About Us

My name is Jasmine Bajaj and in 2026 I founded Saha Society. Saha Society is a project that aims to bring together my practice as a South Asian psychologist and creative to combine truth-telling with healing through artistic mediums.

I am a psychologist (clinical registrar) who has used multiple art forms throughout my life to make sense of the human mind. Since childhood, art has been my way of observing, reflecting, and understanding. I began with charcoal sketches, where I learned the art of observation and portraiture under the guidance of my late guru, fine artist Christopher Teo.

As a quiet and curious child, I explored human emotion through art. For many years, my art remained deeply personal and largely hidden. It offered me solace and helped me understand both myself and others from a distance.

It wasn’t until I began practising as a psychologist in 2024 that I started to explore more deeply what healing meant to me—both at an individual and collective level. In the untold stories of so many people before me, I realised that healing often begins through storytelling and through the act of being witnessed.

Saha Society is my way of honouring the healing power of witnessing another person’s story. The projects within Saha Society highlight decolonial narratives—exploring what it means to truly feel with another person, to express what has been hidden. What started as observant charcoal sketches in my notebook as a child is now a vulnerable accessing and witnessing of raw human emotion through photojournalism, articles, traditional art and film.

I believe we have the power to connect through the parts of ourselves we often keep hidden in shame. Through Saha Society, I hope we can begin to uncover our truths together—and honour them in the process.
